Thank you for your interest in fostering!
In the meantime I have enclosed a note from one of our new fosters who is having a great time and making a tremendous difference! I have also enclosed some pictures of animals who have been saved by our Foster Homes!
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me directly - My Fiancee and I are also a foster home and we have helped save three lives. It feels absolutely amazing!

Fostering to me is giving back!! I'm doing something that I love and I
know is helping shelters out with over population.
Also, it's helping
my daughter who is 17 months learn how to take care of animals and how
to treat them. She at this age is able to help me feed and water the
kittens and knows how to play with all different ages of animals. This
is a good learning experience for my family and our friends.
Fostering
is not hard to do if you are willing to take time out of your day to
give one on one attention to your foster. You will feel like you are
applying for a job, buy remember it's for the animals safety and yours
too. Caring hands did not take long getting back to me about fostering
and in two days I had my first fosters.
If you have animals it's good
for them too. They can learn how to get along with other animals! I
have have two dogs and a kitten witch teaches my fosters how to play
with both dogs and cats.
It's a win win for everyone and every
animal!!

Tex
Tex, a two year old Australian Shepherd needed to learn to trust people. He just did not show well here at the shelter due to his anxiety issues. He went to a very loving and very special foster home - one of the new additions to the Caring Hands foster community. He responded well in foster and was adopted in 8 weeks to a wonderful home with people who fell in love with him.

Mr. Tinkles
Mr. Tinkles found a home while he was still in foster care. He had to finish growing up before he could be adopted (since he was under 2 pounds) but he had a home waiting for him as soon as he came back to Caring Hands. He was in foster care for about 6 weeks.
When he came in to Caring Hands the first time we were critically short on space - his Foster Home saved his life.

Frazier & the Shih Tzus
How could we not mention the Shih Tzus? Many of you will have heard of the 20-some-odd Shih Tzus we took in recently. If not, more information will be available shortly in the News Room section of our website.
Thanks to a tremendous response from the community we serve, including several new foster home volunteers we were able to save ALL of these dogs. We would not have been able to do this without the help of our new foster homes. Instead we would have been left with a situation resulting in tremendous loss of life. As it is there is a happy ending for everyone!
Frazier, pictured to the right, is in foster care for some remedial socialization and lot and lots of love!
