Another Happy Ending:
20 Rescued Shih Tzus find homes within 24 hours!

Caring Hands Humane Society has once again successfully rehomed a large group of dogs rescued by Kansas Animal Health Department - This time in 24 hours!

20 Shih Tzus, adults and puppies came to Caring Hands Humane Society on June 22nd, looking for a second chance. They had been rescued from a breeding operation by Kansas Animal Health Department.

Thanks to record numbers of adopters coming forward to offer them homes and give them that second chance they all found new homes withing 24 hours of arrival at Caring Hands - almost to the minute! This is a new record!

CHHS receives 47 seized dogs from Kansas Animal Health Department


January 28th 2010

January 28th 2010, Caring Hands Humane Society took 42 dogs into care. The dogs were seized from a breeding operation by Kansas Animal Health Department. Thanks to media coverage and heartwarming public response aover 30 ov them were adopted within 2 days. As of February 8th 2010 only 3 of the original 42 were still waiting to find homes at the facility with an additional 2 in foster care.

Breeds included American Eskimo Dogs, Chihuahuas, a Cocker Spaniel, Maltese, Pekingese, Pomeranian, Shih Tzus, Shnauzers, Toy Fox Terriers and Yorksire Terriers.

On Friday February 5th, after tremendous success in rehoming these dogs in need CHHS accepted another 5 american eskimo dogs into care. As of February 8th these 5 dogs are still in need of forever homes.
