When you go home after volunteering at Caring Hands Humane Society, you will know that you have made a difference. You will see it in the eyes of the animals you have helped!
A clean, socialized and trained pet has a much greater chance of finding a home. We need help bathing and grooming animals, exercising, socializing and training them as well as with special events and other offsite programs.

Adoption Counselor
At Caring Hands we not only save lives, we also strive to improve the bond between humans and their pets. Counselors commit to one hour each Saturday and two more hours monthly to provide weekly follow up calls and mailings to help owners with their new pet's period of adjustment.
Bathing & Grooming Animals
Clean and well groomed pets are more attractive to a prospective adopter, which means greatly improved chances of finding a home!
During their stay here the companion animals will feel a lot better thanks to your care too!
Exercising & Socializing Pets
Socialization and exercise greatly improve the quality of life for pets here. Dogs need walked. Cats and kittens need petted and played with! Fun! Fun! Fun!
Special Events
Love animals, but the shelter is not your scene? No problem! Help the homeless animals at our shelter by attending adoption or fundraising events or special adoption events!
Pet Taxi
Pet Taxi volunteers transport pets on short notice to rescue groups or new forever homes outside of Harvey County. Often pet taxis rendevous with other rescue transport closer to their travel route, so only a short trip is required for the CHHS Taxi.
Bring the whole family or enjoy a little quiet time with the animals yourself! Either way you will have a great time when you volunteer at the Caring Hands Humane Society.
